Casa Moricciani has been completely restored and designed with the interior design services of Interior Cafè, an award-winning design firm located in Chiusi, in Tuscany. The villa's interiors are thoughtfully designed and executed with the finest fabrics, draperies, window treatments, upholstery, lighting, fixtures, marble, stone, and blend of antique Tuscan furniture and plush modern pieces for your total comfort. These special touches and the personal services provided by Carlo and Isabella will make your stay everything you could hope for a fabulous week in Tuscany.

Special touches

When you first arrive at Casa Moricciani you will receive a bountiful Gourmet Tuscan food basket * full of delicious things to enjoy during your stay with us--including extra virgin olive oil and red Orcia Rosso doc wine from our farm, local pecorino cheese, cold cuts, Prosecco sparkling wine, fresh seasonal fruits and orange juice, cereals, milk, yogurt, pastries and sweets, a selection of jams, fresh butter and bread.
With a touch of a button, the Lavazza coffee machine will dispense an espresso, cappuccino, or regular coffee; or, if you prefer, you may use the electric teakettle and beautiful teapot (complete with tea cozy) to brew a perfect pot of tea from a large assortment of teas and herbal infusions.

Wrapped in the luxurious bathrobe * that is provided for your use, you can take your morning coffee outside and enjoy the bird’s-eye view of the Tuscan hills and watch the sunrise over Montepulciano.

Cloud-soft 100% cotton bed linens with a luxurious hand and elegant luster together with an assortment of pillows of various sizes and densities are provided to create your perfect sleep experience. The beds, some with remote control adjustments, have high-quality latex mattresses.

The bathroom suites are a hedonist’s delight: exquisitely designed in marble and stone; illuminated perfectly with beautiful lighting fixtures; filled with wonderfully relaxing bath and body products; and equipped with large showers complete with rain showerheads with hydromassage and color therapy and an endless amount of hot water, large plush towels, hairdryers, and more. Each bathroom reflects the long-standing Italian value placed on the rejuvenating experience of the bath. The largest bathroom downstairs includes a jacuzzi tub that will soothe your body after a day full of activity and exercise.

You and your traveling companions will likely find yourselves drawn to the the designer kitchen—where every culinary convenience is supplied, the views are stupendous, and the elegant antique dining table beckons you to sit to enjoy the wonderful food and wine of the Tuscan kitchen! There is a large refrigerator with an in-door water and ice dispenser, dishwasher, gas oven with stovetop, microwave, food mixer, toaster, and all the cookware and utensils you need to make everything from a delicious Italian panino to a gourmet meal for 8 people. China, crystal, stainless steel flatware, tablecloths, and napkins are available to set a beautiful table.

Casa Moricciani has two gas fireplaces – one in the upper level, one in the downstairs living-room, each one elegant and romantic, providing a beautiful, environmentally-friendly source of heat. Enjoy the warm ambiance and beauty of a fire with total convenience and safety.

Satellite television service* with wall-mounted flat, high definition screens will help you stay connected (if you desire) to world events. Casa Moricciani has a broadband Wi-Fi connection* that extends throughout the house and into the garden area. Bring your laptop and remain connected with friends, family, and colleagues throughout your stay. There are several CD players with USB ports for MP3 players in the villa. Bring your iPod (or other MP3 player) and enjoy your own special selection of music during your stay. We are happy to loan you a cell phone that you may use during your stay at Casa Moricciani.

The living space extends to the outside onto the terrace and garden. The phenomenal vista will entice you to come outside, and luxuriate in the open air with comfortable chaise lounges, umbrellas, and tables. Use the gas barbeque grill to make a favorite grilled taste treat such as bistecca fiorentina, bruschette, or grilled vegetables!

Beginning in 2011 the villa will have its own exercise and weight room, with several workout machines to help you stay healthy and fit. Also in 2011 you can enjoy a beautiful jacuzzi spa in the garden, where you can relax in the warm underwater jets of water while your eyes feast on the views of the Tuscan hills and valley.

The villa has its own private parking * just a few steps away, and the village of Castelmuzio includes many free public parking spaces. For drop-off and loading of luggage, guests may drive directly to the front door of the villa and then park a very short distance away.

Special assistance

Guests of Casa Moricciani will enjoy that special balance of private, independent travel combined with personal assistance in English when they need and want it! Even before your stay begins you will be assisted via email with travel planning services. Isabella will custom-design your week based on the activities you wish to experience while you are in Tuscany.

Airport transfers with a private driver can be arranged to make your arrival and departure from Italy very relaxing. If you prefer to have the services of a chauffeur and comfortable van at your service throughout your stay, relieving you of the stress of traffic and allowing you to fully enjoy the views of the countryside and/or city excursions, we can arrange this for you at a very reasonable rate! Please ask us about this service--it is quite competitively priced with those of renting cars and taking trains to various places (such as Florence and Rome), and so much more comfortable and convenient.

A personal check-in with Isabella will ensure that you are completely comfortable with the villa, the surroundings, and the village of Castelmuzio. Shortly upon arrival, Isabella will introduce you to all the activities—things to do and places to go—in the nearby area while you are a guest at Casa Moricciani. She will provide you with the weekly calendar of events in the territory, and help you with any reservations you would like for restaurants, museums, winery visits, and/or cooking classes. If you would like a personal tour guide to show you the area, she will make the arrangements for you.

Peruse the Big Book—a 130-page compendium to help you better explore the area. Written in English, it provides detailed information on restaurants, museums, suggested itineraries, and other information you most likely won't find anywhere else.

A grocery shopping service can be prearranged before your arrival to stock your larder the day you arrive at Casa Moricciani with the food and beverages of your choice—saving you the hassle of going grocery shopping and allowing you to immediately relax and enjoy fine Tuscan lifestyle at the villa. Farm fresh products from the Moricciani family farm may be purchased (and delivered to you at the villa!) to enjoy during your stay--wine, pecorino cheese, prosciutto, jams, eggs, and more.

During your stay, consider opting for the sublime massage therapy services from one of the area’s finest professional therapists! Enjoy this healthy, soothing, and relaxing service in the privacy of the villa at a time that fits your schedule.

Casa Moricciani has a convenient laundry room with large capacity washing machine and dryer. The laundry area includes ironing board and iron, a large utility sink for hand-washing delicates, clothesline and pins, detergent, fabric softener, bleach, and stain removal products. If you prefer to have your laundry done professionally, for a reasonable fee this can be provided with pick-up and delivery service.

Additional personal services are available to make your stay enjoyable, such as having a private cook * prepare a delicious meal at the villa. If you have children but wish to have an evening out without them, a babysitter will stay with your children within the villa, and you may have confidence that your children are safe and secure.

* Casa Moricciani will offer its complete offering of services and comforts beginning in 2011. Most of the services will be provided during the fall of 2010 (from September – December)—however, those that will begin in 2011 are noted above. Daily cleaning service will be provided beginning in 2011, while in 2010 there will be weekly cleaning service and additional service provided on request for an additional fee.
